In furtherance of the constitutional responsibility to preserve the sanctity of the NANS Constitution and Charter of Demands, maintain internal order, and ensure strict adherence to governance provisions, the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has issued a binding directive regarding Joint Campus Council (JCC) executive tenures.

The Constitution of NANS remains supreme, admits of no sentiment, and is binding on every structure and member of the Association, irrespective of status, affiliation, or circumstance. No individual or chapter is above the provisions of the Constitution.

Constitutional Basis and Directive to Zonal Coordinators

Under Article 15, Sub-Section 1 of the NANS Constitution and Charter of Demands, the NANS Year is strictly capped at a maximum of fifteen (15) months. The Constitution explicitly provides for the automatic dissolution of any JCC executive body remaining in office beyond this period.

Consequently, all NANS Zonal Coordinators are hereby directed and mandated to:

  1. Immediate Dissolution: Identify and immediately dissolve every Joint Campus Council executive within their respective Zones that has exceeded the constitutional 15-month tenure.
  2. Non-Discretionary Compliance: Treat this order as an absolute constitutional mandate, leaving no room for discretion, preference, or political compromise.

Interim Leadership and 30-Day Election Mandate

Upon the dissolution of any overstayed JCC executive, the constitutional process must take effect immediately:

  1. Interim Setup: The respective Zonal Coordinator shall immediately constitute an interim leadership committee for the affected JCC.
  2. Mandatory Timeline: The interim leadership is charged with the sole responsibility of organizing and conducting fresh elections within thirty (30) days, without any option for extension.

All Zonal Coordinators are instructed to ensure full and immediate compliance across all geopolitical zones to preserve the integrity and sanctity of the Association.
